A Court of Silver Flames

Summary
Nesta Archeron is a prickly cactus that no one wants around. She has been through the ringer and just wants to be left alone to wallow in her wine. Her family is determined to pull her out of her own wicked behavior and force her to get out of her own butt and this will change her life forever.
My Thoughts
So the ACOTAR series is by far one of my favorite series I’ve ever read so when Ms. Maas announced that she was writing another book about this fabulous world, I knew I had to read it. When I read the series, I also wondered about Nesta. I mean in the beginning, I really could do without her, but as the series went on, her strength and explosive anger was fascinating to me and I always wanted to know how she got to be that way. I also LOVED Cassian, he was just such a sexy and dynamic character that I just had to have more of him. This book gave me all that I needed and so much more.
It was so nice to be back in the ACOTAR book world, I honestly didn’t know how much I missed it until I started reading the first page. This world is such a beautiful and wonderful place to me that it’s almost like home. The plot took such a different and unexpected turn. I thought that the characters would have to go on a long journey and fight against a mysterious and dark villain. Although it was that and more, I felt that the most important thing was that it was a story of forgiveness and finding the courage to move on and start anew. Both these main characters have been through hell and back, so this was more of their swan song to find true happiness within themselves and with the people they love.
The book also gave us a more in depth look of this book world because there wasn’t an overwhelming urgency to face a terrible evil and save the world. Through the eyes of Nesta and her training, we got to see the many weird and fascinating things that make the House of Winds a great place to be and were given more information about the Illyrian warriors and their fascinating practices. It just answered so many leftover questions I had during the previous novels and it was a delight. The author also added more interesting creatures into the mix and I was just so excited for more.
Nesta is such an interesting character to me and I might like her just a bit more than Feyre. I mean don’t get me wrong, I love Feyre, but Nesta and her bad attitude has a special place in my heart despite the fact that she drove me insane at some points. She has so many layers to her and like Shrek, you just got to peel them back and will find a gushy and loveable center. The author added so much background to her character that made her behavior much less confusing, but also didn’t let her get away with it either. Nesta fought hard to become who she was in the end and it was an amazing journey to read.
Cassian is just perfect to me in every way. He is such a beautiful male specimen and truly has a heart of gold for dealing with Nesta’s bad butt. He would not give up on her and their relationship was just so special and heartwarming. We also got to learn more about him and his background and being able to see inside his head was a hilarious delight.
The steam in this book was such SO SOOO SOOOOO GOOD and thank god. This author brought her sexy A game to this novel and it just made it that much better. I mean the banter between Nesta and Cassian is steamy enough, but DAMN GIRL, I was just squealing in delight the entire time and my husband thought something was wrong with me. Their passion for each other was just drool-worthy and it made me inhale the book in a day because I just needed more!
I also really loved that we got to see some amazing female power and the bond of sisterhood in this book. Between Nesta, Gwyn, and Emerie’s quest to become Valkyries and the renewal of Nesta’s sisterly bonds between her and Feyre. It was such a beautiful and heartwarming novel that makes this addition to the series so special.
I was so in love with this book. Thank you Sarah J. Maas for taking me on a journey full of laughs, tears, beautiful moments, and just the right amount of steam.
