Book Review

Blindly Duology

NIna has been a prisoner all her life and when she manages to escape, she ends up being accused and sentenced for the murder of a man she has never met. She is then sent to the Nightmare Penitentiary, can she survive or will she be a prisoner forever?

My Thoughts

OMG THIS BOOK WAS SO GOODDDDDD!!!! I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the characters and the pace of the plot. This book provides so much great steam, so many laughs, and such a great magic system.

I LOVED NINA! First of all, she has the coolest power EVER! She also is such a cute character. She has a heart of gold, but also made of steel and I just loved her and her point of view. I really enjoyed her internal dialogue and she has such a special place in my heart carved out for strong ass female MCs. Also her naive moments (considering she has been imprisoned all her life) added so many cute and funny scenes with her men.

I also was OBSESSED WITH HER MEN! They were dark, angsty, entertaining, and DELICIOUS. The only problem I had while reading their perspectives was choosing which character I loved more. It was definitely a first world problem in the world of reverse harems.

The plot was also very well done and the setting though dark and creepy was also VERY interesting. It reminded me of the last trial from Harry Potter.

I’m so invested in what will happen next!

My Thoughts:

Okay…. sooooo I reallllllly liked the first book of this series so much, but this book wasn’t as great as the first…..

I think my feelings of disappointment are because:

  1. It was a lot of the same from the first book.
  2. The author introduced characters that weren’t really necessary to the harem.

I loved the first book because I felt like the story was so unique and the characters were SO loveable. However….. The second book didn’t really add much and it was kind of disappointing. I expected much more drama maybe or another twist and I didn’t really get that. I think I’m kind of bitter about who the villains were…. They were SO LAME!

I also didn’t understand why there were more men added to Nina’s harem. I mean usually I’m all for adding more men to the hot dog, but this time it didn’t make any sense…. Also, we didn’t get to spend ANY time with them so there was no character development… it made me sad because I think I would’ve liked the know more of their story.

Overall, I did like this sequel and the ending to the series, I just wish some things hadn’t been there.
