Briarcliff Secret Society Series

Summary

Callie Ryan has been sent to Briarcliff Academy to complete her senior year against her wishes. As the new girl, she quickly finds out that she doesn’t fit in. There are mean girls, bullies, and secrets that haunt the halls of this elite school and Callie help, but be curious. But curiosity can kill the cat and Callie might discover things that will change her life forever! 

My Thoughts 

This steamy academy and bully romance had hints of mystery and intrigue and was COMPLETELY up my alley! This book was not at all what I expected and it WAS SO GOOD! The school setting was full of horrors and secrets that would make anyone interested and the characters all play a variety of terrifying cat and mouse games that would make anyone a little crazy. The book took so many twists and turns and I was really desperate to find out what was going to happen! 

The characters were interesting, but I wasn’t as invested in them as I was the overall plot and the mysteries surrounding their elite atmosphere. I mean I liked them, but I wasn’t in love with everyone as much because there was JUST SO MUCH GOING ON!!! I liked Callie, the main character most of the time, but I thought she could get a little annoying and could be a little weak. Her love interest/bully, Chase, was a delicious specimen of man, but his motives were confusing to read and sometimes he took his bullying just a little bit too far. I would love to get his perspective on all this. I also found the fact that he kept telling Callie to stop looking into things annoying because it almost seemed to make her want to do it more. 

Overall the plot was JUST SO DAMN GOOD! However, I felt that the mystery was dragged out a little too far with no answers and all of the sudden was solved. The flow could have been a little better executed. I also thought there was so much alluding, but not enough information. I am so looking forward to the next book because that cliffhanger was CRAZY! 

My Thoughts: 

Wow, just wow. I thought this book series couldn’t get any crazier, but it just seems to get more and more insane as I read. If you enjoy Pretty Little Liars or Gossip Girl, this book series is like those two series had a very VERY dysfunctional and psychotic baby. The mystery surrounding the academy and its members is just getting juicier and juicier and as time wears on, I am getting more and more confused, but in a good way. (If that is possible?) 

We receive more information about the secret societies and their history; however, once something is discovered, I feel like more and more secrets are revealed leaving me with more questions than I started out with. No one can call this series, dull, that is FOR SURE! The characters in this series are starting to grow on me more over time, but the main characters are a little frustrating in my opinion. Callie can be kind of thick headed at times and is quick to anger which can hurt more than help her situation. I also think that Chase is not worth it sometimes, no matter how good the sex is….. 

I cannot wait for the next installment because the bomb that they dropped at the end of this one was CRAZY!!! 

My Thoughts: 

Ummmmm WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!!! Omg this book series just keeps getting crazier and crazier and I just keep coming back for more. I’m borderline obsessed with this series and it just keeps getting better with each book! With each new page, comes more drama, more mystery, more suspense and it is SO ADDICTING! 

The secret societies of this series are so amazingly complex and very intriguing. With each book they get more and more twisted and complicated and I only want more and more. I’m like Bruce from Matilda with the chocolate cake, I couldn’t stop reading! I literally inhaled this book. There are so many amazing plot twists and insane wide turns. I could never tell who was telling the truth and who was playing a part….. It made my brain explode at certain points. I really really REALLY enjoyed it! 

Callie really grew on me during this book and she FINALLY GREW A BACKBONE!!!! I was cheering from the rooftops when she got it together and decided she wasn’t going to take anyone’s crap ANYMORE! The ending of book three was a true smack in the face and I am desperate to know how this series concludes! 

My Thoughts

DAMN GIRL THIS BOOK SERIES ENDED WITH SUCH A CRAZY AND SERIOUS BANG! It was such a wonderful ending to such a dramatic and crazy series. I honestly didn’t know what to expect after the last book ended, but man I was not expecting all this chaos and craziness! Everything came to such an insane end that I am still reeling from it all! 

Everything is the series and all the questions I had were ALMOST wrapped up in a tiny bow. However, I felt like the author ended the book with almost an open ending and it drove me INSANE. Maybe the author is going to continue the series or do a spin off? Whatever it is, I’m all for it!!! 

The back and forth between Chase and Callie was EXHAUSTING, but it came to a steamy and crazy conclusion that I really enjoyed! The plot could have been a bit chaotic sometimes and I would have to read some parts over to understand everything going on because THERE WAS JUST SO MUCH! I couldn’t keep a lot of things straight all the time because a lot of information about EVERYTHING was revealed in the last book, and it was so INSANE. 

Although the ending was open and I was a little confused at times, I felt like everything came to a wonderful conclusion so I am a VERY happy reader!
