My Thoughts
In the mood for a steamy and sweet summer read? This book is the one for you. I received this read as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This fast and fun read was a joy to read and a great way to get over any reading slump. Although I really did enjoy the read and it gave me my reading juices back, I felt like this read was missing a LOT of detail and I was just left with SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!
Okay….let me explain. I’ll start with the things I liked about this read.
I really liked how sweet the romance was between these two characters. I mean IT WAS ALL SO ADORABLE and SWEET that I thought I was going to get a sweet tooth and have to see my local dentist. The relationship between these characters blossomed out of nowhere and just was cute scene after cute scene that my heart was going to explode in adorableness…. Spencer is a self-declared bad boy ( I say self-declared because we have no prior evidence that he has been) and Rosemary is the goody two shoes character that he falls into instalove with. Their story was very simple and easy to understand, but verrrry surface. However, the steam between these two love birds was almost worth the surface treatment.
So the only thing that I didn’t enjoy about the book was I felt like so much was missing about the characters. I mean the romance and relationship part about the book was good and detailed, but so much more was going on outside of their relationship that should have been addressed and affected the relationship. However, they would mention something that happened in between perspectives and then move on as though nothing happened…. I NEED MORE THAN THAT!!!! I understand that this is a romance book and some people don’t need all that detail, but I do and I felt like the book would have been a little more complete for me. I want more from characters and not just the surface.
I also felt like there were so many unnecessary characters in the book that I thought it distracted from the main characters and had no real purpose to the storyline.
Overall, this read was short and sweet, but I wish it had been a little more detailed and the characters not so surface.
