My Thoughts

AWWWW THIS BOOK WAS JUST SO DAMN CUTE AND I WAS SO OBSESSED WITH IT ALL!!!

I went into this book completely blind and I am so glad because I think it made me enjoy it all the more. I listened to the book through Audible and it made driving such a wonderful experience. I finished the book in two days and found any excuse to do a chore or run an errand so I could listen to the book. I was obsessed, people.

This coming to age slash sweet romance was such a delight to read and was so relatable to so many of us that left college and I had no idea what they wanted to do. Grace has worked so hard to be the best, but also chooses a major that is a little rebellious to her father. She is promised a presideous position after she graduates, but when she doesn’t get it, she becomes lost and unaware of what to do next. She has worked so hard and constantly to be all she could be, but when she has no next logical step, she freaks. She suffers the classic burnout that so many of us suffer. I went to college with one goal in mind, to be a teacher, and if I hadn’t had a job lined up right after college, maybe I would have drifted too. When you work at that pace and then have no next step planned, it is always a struggle to figure out what to do next, especially for someone Type A like Grace… haha! I just felt such a kinship and love for Grace and I also was rooting for her to find herself and her path.

I also was in love with all the characters. So many delightful characters surrounded Grace with support and love and she was extremely lucky to have so many people rooting for her. I understood that her father and the Porter family motto was a driving force for Grace to feel all the pressure to be perfect, but in the end, I loved her dad too. He just wanted her to be happy in the end and their final discussion was such a wonderful and beautiful moment. He, like all fathers, wants his child to succeed and be comfortable in their daily life.

Not only were all of Grace’s family and friends so amazing…. I was honestly obsessed with Yuki. Her perspective and way of thinking truly captivated me and I might have a slight girl crush on her. Her sense of adventure and comfort with the unknown are such great qualities for Grace to be around. They may have been an accident, but it allowed Grace to see that being the best and being perfect is not the gateway to happiness. This lesson allowed her to actually choose what will happen next and what she really wanted out of life. Their love was a beautiful and happy thing to behold and I just loved it.

This book was such a cute and thoughtful romance that I could read again and again. IT WAS SO CUTE, oh by the way, there is a little steam and it is very good.
