Memories of Fire

Knox

The Greek Gods were something from history books as fiction. However the beings that abandoned Olympus and caused mass destruction across Earth were very much real. I’ve done everything I can to survive away from their reign.

Until her.

A flash of red hair and a lost, confused gaze and I was sucked into a black hole of heated desire and a need to protect.

Yet she could destroy me in a way that even the Gods couldn’t.

Callie

Lost.

Confused.

Broken.

That’s all I felt as I opened my eyes without an idea of who I was. Knox’s no bullshit attitude challenged me to be more than an unknown. I was determined to make sure that “Callie” was not just the beaten girl lost in the desert.

Until my memories reveal more than what broke me…but how I could break them.

My Thoughts

I’m so grateful to the Hatters Author’s Services and the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked the concept of this book, but the execution was not my absolute favorite. It was a Greek mythology retelling, but it was one VERY loosely and it almost would’ve done the plot a service to not be one….

I didn’t understand that it was a Greek mythology retelling until like 50% of the book…. Ummmm red flag….

I liked the characters a lot, but not really together…

I mean eventually I got it, but it was not a very flowy romance… it was like nothing for a long time and then BAM, we going to have angry sex now. It had elements of enemies to lovers without much banter in the perspective of Knox and that was kind of rude because I need the banter. Then, we got to Callie’s point of view, it was like friends to lovers with sprinkles of enemies to lovers.

IT MADE NO SENSE….

Also…. the villain…. BORINGGGGGG

He could’ve been so much more, but he just fell flat and he wasn’t even that scary or a real problem which meant the overall conflict was kind of lacking.

I mean I enjoyed the read and everything, don’t get me wrong at all, but so many things did not make sense! I just know this book has so much potential if it was just done correctly!

This book is a standalone, but the author will be continuing the series with another book focusing on characters in the same world. I cannot wait to see Athena’s story…. It sounds super gooddddd!
