My Top 5 Reads of October
I only read 11 books this month, but I’m okay with it. I mean I could have read more books, but it was my favorite month of the year so I had a lot of fun activities to do as well as read. I enjoyed all of the books I read in October, but these five were definitely books that I will always remember!

Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
Oh this book was wonderful! I really enjoyed it so much more than I thought I was going to. The book was written through a collection of emails, instant messages, and classified documents so it was a little bit of a struggle at first, but once I got into it, I was hooked. The characters were sassy and hilarious and the action was perfect for any science fiction lover. There were so many plot twists in this book that made me want to hug and hit the authors at the same time! Such a great start to the series and I have no idea why I put off reading it for so long!

The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
This book grabbed me from the very beginning and is still holding on to me until the next installment comes out. I loved loved loved every single second of it. I thought it was going to be something completely different, but it was such a welcome surprise! The main character was such a smart, sassy, badass and the male characters were all equally delicious. The plot had so many twists and turns that it made my head spin in the most pleasant way possible. I can’t wait for the next book because that cliffhanger was a doozy.

Crush by Tracy Wolff
Holy crap this book. Ms. Wolff took me on such a heart wrenching ride that I want her to be my friend and my enemy at the same time. The first book of the series was a meh rating at best, but this sequel completely turned the series on a 180! I can’t believe how much I was obsessed with this book. It made me squeal, scream, yell, curse, and dance on many separate occasions. This is one of those books that you wish you could read again for the first time because the shock was so GOOD! The whole time I wishing for something to happen and Ms. Wolff gave me such a tiny taste of it that I wanted to die. I can’t wait for the next book. I’m going to die of impatience!

Woven in Midnight by Isabel Ibanez
This book was so amazing and it was such a perfect read in every way. I loved the gorgeous details that the author included to create such a magical and colorful world. All of the food, the clothes, and the colors made me feel so immersed and at home with Latin culture. The characters were also so great and I really enjoyed getting to know them and seeing them succeed. If you love Latin food, Latin culture, magic, and badass characters, you should definitely read this book!

House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
Since ending the Throne of Glass series, I have been in such a sad place. I miss the beautiful characters of Ms. Maas’s world so I wanted to reread this to get that again. I actually really enjoyed rereading this again because I completely forgot everything about the plot, the world, and the characters. I fell in love with Bryce and Hunt equally and it was so much fun to read about their enemies to lovers relationship. I also loved the book world that these characters were in and I can’t wait to read more even though the next installment isn’t until next year! Rude!
