Summary
Fable thought that she and West and their crew could sail off into the sunset, but pirates have a way with ruining plans. Fable finds herself caught in the middle of a thug’s plan and must partner with a dangerous ally to get back to the Marigold. However, will this partnership reunite her with West or separate them even more?
My Thoughts
OMG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS READ SINCE THE ENDING OF FABLE. IT was pure torture and when it finally came out, I was so excited. Fable ended on such an unpredictable cliffhanger that I was just desperate to get the complete story and know if my babies had a happy ever after. In the first book, Fable was my favorite and I loved the book world and everything, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the romance. I felt like it was a little too out of the blue, but this sequel fixed all that and I just LOVED how this adventurous and captivating story ended.
We got so much more information about the book world, the dynamics of this pirate life, and the background of the characters that I’ve been yearning for! UGH I WAS SO HAPPY! This was such a wonderful treasure hunt adventure and I just loved every minute of it. The twists and turns of the plot were so great and it was all just so damn good! It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! There were so many truth bombs about Fable, her family, other characters that I never would have guessed. I really am reeling from it all!
I felt like so much was going on and there was so much left unsaid from the first book, that although we got most of the things I needed to know, I still needed more! We got a lot more background and understanding on Fable’s mother. (I was thinking she was some kind of sea nymph for a minute because she sounded so magical in the first book.) Also, Clove and Saint were much more explained, but I wish I could have seen their bromance because it sounded so cute. We also did learn about trade conditions and gem trading, but I’m still reeling and just a tad confused by all the details. I need a glossary and a chart please and thank you!
Sooooo although I can’t give this book five stars due to book world confusion….. This book deserves four and a half stars BECAUSE…. WEST! I had a little trouble with West in the beginning, due to his random declaration of lust after a mean streak in the first book, but boy did he grow on me. Woof! He actually used his words to explain himself and his feelings and I was here for it! I loved West and Fable together as well and was so happy to see their happy ending! It was so satisfying omg.
Although….. The steam was not as satisfying….sigh.
The steam and the details might not have been all I wanted, but it’s okay because that ending was just so heartwarming and everything I didn’t know I needed.
