Book Review

Queen Crow

Avery Beaumont thought she was free and able to fly on her own, but the world of Mount Bay has new players ready to pounce and Avery might end up back in her cage….

My Thoughts

So I was very apprehensive to read this book. Not because of the author (BECAUSE SHE IS AMAZING), or because of the book world, but I didn’t really know how I would take Avery acting as the main character instead of my girl, Lips. Now I am freaking obsessed about Lips and that has nothing to do with Avery because I like her, but she isn’t Lips AT all. She is cunning and biting and her one liners kill me, but she is so different from Lips and I thought I would get bored and wait for Lips to come into the story line.

Although I missed Lips, I really liked getting Avery’s perspective and it was a story that needed to be told. There were so many questions after the last book of the Hannaford Prep series and this spin off answered those questions and gave so much more. Avery became more of a person to me and we got to see and experience more of that vulnerability and see she wasn’t just the person with all the answers, like a robot. We also got to see what really went down with the Jackal and that turned out to be not at all what I expected, I loved it. Avery went all in and I was so happy to see her stand on her own two feet and embrace her awesomeness.

Also, Adohan is amazing and I JUST FREAKING LOVED THIS IRISHMEN…. Atticus who..?

I am straight up obsessed with this gorgeous man and I was so happy that the author included his perspective because that was so much fun!

I can’t wait to see what the next book brings!

My Thoughts

Now, the sequel of the series was GREAT, but not amazing for me. I really liked it, but there was one element I could have done without….

The sequel was so intriguing to me because we really got to see more and more from the Twelve than ever before and the game on how they were recruited. It was freaking interesting and I was glued to those scenes with strong Gorilla glue. This book world is just so freaking cool and I am so obsessed with it and am so happy to have found it. THANK YOU J. BREE and KINDLE UNLIMITED (If you don’t have Kindle Unlimited now….. You are dumb. Jk!) This world is so bloodthirsty and so intricate, it is a puzzle from hell and the devil would be proud.

Avery continued to come into her own and I was so here for it. I just loved how more confident she got and I applauded it the entire read. Adohan was also wonderful and perfect in every way. Avery and Adohan’s banter and steam gave me life and I could read it again and again. However, there was one snag on this couture gown…. Atticus. Dude this guy sucks….. Atticus can go away and disappear into Mexico because I just don’t care. He makes Avery shriek like a violet and it is not a good look…. I thought I was going to be all over this man sundae, but he is more like lima beans…. BOY BYE!

Overall, that ending was a jaw dropping moment and I am needing the next book now!

My Thoughts

So although there were some bumps in this bloody and sexy road, I enjoyed the conclusion to the Queen Crow series. My babies came back together and all is right in the world. We got blood, we got twists, we got steam, and WE GOT MY GIRL AND HER MEN BACK. I was so freaking happy to read about Lips and her men again because I missed them so much.

Avery was a freaking queen in this book and FINALLY took the rein into her hands and let go. It was awesome and just what I needed. I feel like she came into her own, but becomes even better with Lips around so I was here for it. Avery finally accepted and embraced herself for who she is and not who she thinks she should be. In the end I am so glad to have read her story because it gives the world of Mounts Bay another view and it was awesome to read. Adohan is on my book boyfriend list for sure and his name is now bolded on the list because of this book.

HOWEVER, Atticus still sucked. I thought we were going to see him in a different light or something along those lines, but no. He still sucks and I wish he would go away. He is just so one note and doesn’t bring any humor or any fun to the table. He’s lame and just brings Avery to her worst. I am not a fan, sorry not sorry.

Overall this series ended in such a happier way than I was expecting and I am still addicted to Mounts Bay.
