Summary
Adelaide Jensen has been burned in the journalism game and when she has the scoop of the century, she will do anything to get it out including risking her life. Ransom Lewis is a Senator’s press secretary and will do anything to stop Adelaide from getting her story. However, this story uncovers a lot more than a sneaky senator.
My Thoughts
I’m so thankful to get this book in exchange for an honest review! Wow this book was a very steamy read! Those sex scenes were off the charts. I had to fan myself many times, dang!!
Ummmmm so Rhett can come and get me, OMG! He was just so soooooooooooo steamy and his dialogue was just drool worthy!! Whenever he called Addie, “bunny,” I died a little and I definitely flooded my basement. I went into the book completely blind and I loved being taken by surprise because wow, I did not see that coming!
The writing of this book was very well done and the word usage was very different from any romance that I’ve read in awhile. I liked the characters; however, some of them could get on my nerves just a tad. Adelaide could go on these political rants that could get a little irritating and would almost distract me from the overall plot. I understood what the author was trying to do, but I thought more time could have been dedicated to the build up of the suspense or the development of the relationship between characters.
I also found Ransom to be EXTREMELY whiny, OMG. He is not a book boyfriend that I could get with in the beginning, but he grew on me in the end. The relationship between the three of them turned out to be so adorable and I wish we could’ve gotten to know them more. In addition, I also wish that the relationship between characters could have been a little more built up and developed. One minute Addie and Ransom couldn’t stand each other and then BAM they love each other. Not what I love in an enemies to lovers trope. I need more banter and Addie was just SOOOO MEAN sometimes. However, everything was saved by Rhett. OMG I need more of him in my life.
Overall, this was a sexy steamy read that I am so thankful I was gifted to read!
