Sadie
A missing girl on a journey of revenge. A Serial―like podcast following the clues she’s left behind. And an ending you won’t be able to stop talking about.
Sadie hasn’t had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she’s been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.
But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie’s entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister’s killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him.
When West McCray―a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America―overhears Sadie’s story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie’s journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it’s too late.

My Thoughts
WHAT THE HELLLLLLLLLL WAS THAT!!?!?!
I’m equally mad and equally in love with this book.
It was just so well done and it left me wanting more. I am a sucker for a missing person thriller and this one was definitely one to add to your add to cart list! It was just so damn good! This author knows how to do a thriller right!
This story was told using two perspectives which alternated with chapters. It was told through the episodes of a true crime podcast and through the perspective of Sadie. Sadie’s perspective was set in the past and the podcast was in the near future. I really loved this idea because it gave us the story through all angles. The podcast perspective was also really intriguing to me because I listen to so many of them that are just like this one.
This story was SOOOOOO MIND BLOWING! It was just so unpredictable and kept me guessing the whole time. It was also soooooo SADDDDDDDDDDD omggggg my heart was ripped out throughout the ENTIRE book.
Sadie had such a heart wrenching life, but DAMN WAS SHE A BADASS QUEEN! I mean she did so many things that made my jaw drop and she didn’t give a darn! She just went for it in order to find the truth and I have mad respect for her. I really dug her storyline!
I liked the idea of the podcast and it was really cool, but I just thought it could have been done a little better. I felt like it needed a little more introduction and I thought maybe the author could have introduced the host of the podcast. The author eventually mentioned a little information about him, but it was at the very end and it felt a little rushed.
Courtney Summers knows how to weave a compelling and unique plot line that keeps you on the edge of your seat and guessing. She would throw a zinger at the end of each chapter and then move on to the other perspective… it was like there was a cliffhanger at the end of each chapter…. It was very mean, but I liked it.
Also…. THE ENDINGGGGG!!??!!! That was crazy.
Overall, this book was so good and I just enjoyed it. Courtney Summers is a freaking genius!
