Skeletal Hearts
It’s time to pray.
Repeat after me.
Lord Almighty, have mercy on me.
Free me from my sins.
Freedom.
That’s the first lie I swallowed.
Haunted by ghosts and the secrets they carry, I’m being eaten alive by guilt. Pastor Michaels’ reign of terror will continue until I surrender myself to him.
We’re fighting an invisible enemy that speaks the language of violence. Allies have become enemies, and new faces are threatening to derail my life.
Someone’s keeping secrets.
My control is fraying.
With Sabre Security under fire, I have to find the truth before it’s too late. If not for my sake, then for the men that stole my heart and refuse to give it back.
They say that family is forever.
Ours is about to be put to the test.
My Thoughts
This is the sequel in the Sabre Security and although I like the story and the characters…the pacing of the writing is a little too slow and a little choppy at the same time….
I know, that comment is a definite oxymoron, but somehow it was done in this book.
I felt like there was a lot of things going on with the characters mentally and with the case itself, but there wasn’t enough time given to these characters. I just am not as connected to the characters as I hope to be, especially Theo… I want to like him, but his chapters are just a weeeeeeee bit repetitive. I also feel like Harlow’s mental journey is a little stunted and feel like she deserves a much better therapist…
Also… Harlow’s parents… omgggg that stuff was crazy and I wish the author had focused on that more please.
ALSO… LEIGHTON is my favorite. If Harlow decided she only wanted him, I would be completely fine with it. His banter with Harlow is so much fun and I think he is the best one for her…. Although him and Enzo together would be… FIRE.
Overall, the story was good and the steam was GREAT, but I had some issues with my attention span where some characters were concerned….
My Book Rating
