Stepbrother's Darling - Becca In A Book

My Thoughts

So this book is written by the same person that wrote Den of Vipers so I had high expectations….. I think my high expectations killed my vibe for this book because I was left with such a meh feeling….

I mean this book, on paper, sounds right up my alley.

It has:

-stepbrothers taboo (yum)

-enemies to lovers

-bad ass female

-stalker villain

-gangster men with traumatic pasts

However, those wonderful and delicious ingredients did not add up to an amazing book. I honestly think this book was too long and the plot was kind of boring. Also, the main character, though badass, funny, and fun, could be a little too much sometimes and got her own way, WAY TOO MUCH!

First of all, there were way too many things going on in the plot. I wish the author had kept a consistent plot throughout the whole thing. The concept of the boys as a gang came up sometimes, but it wasn’t consistent. The MC’s story too, like her background and her traumas were there, but not there. It was just all over the place and I wasn’t really that interested.

Cyrus, Bray, Asher or as I would call them… Boring, Boring, just ok.

They weren’t my favorite reverse harem men, but they were decent. Their gangster vibes were just not there… they were entitled rich boys, don’t try to sell me bad boy unless you’re going to go all the way. ALSO, the steam was just okay, could have been a little more yummy… ESPECIALLY if you were going to go with the bad boy vibe…

Overall, if this book had been half of the number of pages, I honestly would have liked it much more…. Sometimes a romance book should be 200 pages.
