Sullivan Review

Summary
Sullivan Baker moving to Laurel Springs was the best move he ever made. He has a great job and great friends, but there is something missing. When he takes Shelby home from the Christmas party, he knows exactly what will fill that hole in his heart.
My Thoughts
If you are looking for a sexy cop and a badass lawyer romance set in a small town, this is the book for you! I was extremely lucky to receive an ARC copy from the author for an honest review and I could not be more grateful. This book was definitely a short and steamy romance to get you through the winter cold.
This is the fifth book in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team series, this book focusing on Sullivan, a brother of one of the other main characters in the previous books. Sullivan is a very sweet, protective, and extremely alluring MC and I enjoyed reading from his point of view. Maybe it’s because I haven’t read any of the other novels of the series, but I felt like we didn’t get enough back story about his past and why he felt so afraid of making a commitment with Shelby. I also found his dialogue in public to be just a little bit cheesy, but it was made up for by his steamy lines in the bedroom. Hubba Hubba!
I loved Shelby! She was such a sweet and interesting character that always just wanted to do the right thing. I wish we had also gotten to know more about her and her life before she moved to Laurel Springs, but again it might have appeared in the other novels of the series. She was definitely a badass MC and I would be extremely likely to hire her as my lawyer! She gets it done!
The chemistry between the two MCs was definitely explosive and fun to read. However, I felt that there wasn’t enough build up between the two of them. Sorry, I need more angst in my romance. (Annoying I know.) However, I felt like romance was pure and very sweet with a little bit of suspense thrown into the mix because of both of their jobs.
Overall, I really enjoyed this read and look forward to reading more from this author!
