A Court of Silver Flames
Summary Nesta Archeron is a prickly cactus that no one wants around. She has been through the ringer and just wants to be left alone to wallow in her wine. Her family is determined to pull her out of her own wicked behavior and force her to get out of her own butt and this will change her life forever. My Thoughts So the ACOTAR series is by far one of my favorite series I’ve ever read so when Ms. Maas announced that she was writing another book about this fabulous world, I knew I had to read it. When I read the series, I also wondered about Nesta. I…
My Top Five Reads of February
This month has been a little crazy and I bit off more than I could chew with my monthly TBR. I didn’t get to read all my picks up I think 22 books is a good effort. I read so many great books, but these five were my favorites of the month! Den of Vipers by K.A. Knight I’ve been wanting to read this book for a long time and I’m so glad I finally did!! This book was DARKKKK, but I was so into it and I ventured into a level of kink that I have never before. IT WAS AMAZING. This book featured such an amazing badass female…
My Most Anticipated Reads of February
There is going to be so many amazing books coming out this month and my wallet is going to be so angry with me! What Big Teeth by Rose Szabo Summary: Eleanor hasn’t seen her family in years. When a terrible incident occurs at her boarding school, she travels to the only place she feels safe, home. However, returning home forces her to embrace her family and how similar to them she is. I mean the cover of course drew me into learning more about this read. However, the synopsis sounds so intriguing I cannot wait to learn more about this girl and her fantasy world. Publication Date: February 2nd …
Sequels Better than the First
As a crazy series reader, I have seen it all. A sequel that doesn’t match the amazingness of the first. An ending that broke my soul in the best way or an ending that made me question why I read the series at all. However, series are such a complicated and amazing journey that authors take readers on, so sometimes the first of a series falls short on action as opposed to the rest of the series. Here is a list of sequels that I liked more than the first book. New Moon (Book 2 of the Twilight series) by Stephanie Meyer So I am a Team Jacob fan through…
Prequels I Enjoyed More than the Series
Prequels are such a cool idea to add to any series in my opinion. However, there are some that are done very well and others that were just awful! (cough Star Wars prequels cough). They can give more information about a book world or give a new perspective to a villain or side character. I also love them because they can take me back to a book world that I didn’t want to leave in the first place. Some prequels are just so well done that I actually enjoyed them much more than the series itself. Whether it was a series I didn’t really enjoy in the first place or…
Some of My Favorite Book Boyfriends
As a book lover, one of the main things I find is that with each book I develop a new fictional relationship with a certain character and I wish they were real. My husband is great, but there is just something about a boy from a book that is just a little better. Here are some of my recent book loves, but trust me, there are many more! Wraith from Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco OH THIS BOY IS YUMMY! He is sarcastic, evil, hilarious, and so dark. He is a mystery wrapped in a very handsome package that I can’t wait to unwrap in the next book.…

My Top 5 Reads of October
I only read 11 books this month, but I’m okay with it. I mean I could have read more books, but it was my favorite month of the year so I had a lot of fun activities to do as well as read. I enjoyed all of the books I read in October, but these five were definitely books that I will always remember! Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman Oh this book was wonderful! I really enjoyed it so much more than I thought I was going to. The book was written through a collection of emails, instant messages, and classified documents so it was a little bit…
Trick or Treat Reads
Halloween is soon upon us and I cannot be more excited! Halloween is my favorite holiday for many reasons, but the main reason I love Halloween is the fact that I get to be whoever I want to be which is a lot like reading a book. While I was thinking of blog posts, I really want to do something with the phrase, “trick or treat,” and I thought about how this could relate to books. Some books that I thought were going to be a trick turned into being a treat to read. Other books can start out as a treat, but turn into a trick. These are some…
