The HAVOC Boys Series Review

Summary

The HAVOC boys rule Prescott High. You only say their name if you want them to do you a favor. However, that favor comes with a price, but Bernie is willing to pay anything to get her revenge, even agreeing to be their girl, a HAVOC girl.

My Thoughts

So C.M. Stunich is by far one of my favorite romance writers of all time. Her main characters are raw, gritty, and so powerful and her men are hard, sarcastic, and sexy in all the ways. I just love the stories she writes and I’m always ready to read more of her books. With all that information, I would say that this series is by far my favorite of hers! It was such a fantastic and well written ride that I am devastated that it is over.

Each book in the series got better and better and I can’t explain in words how much I loved this series. It was so good! The plot of the overall series just kept getting more and more complicated, but it was not confusing in the least bit. The plot added more depth to the characters and it kept the book honestly a thrill ride that you would have to pay me to get off. There were so many twists and turns in the series that I felt my jaw dropping in every chapter in the best way. Each book (except the last one, thank god) ended in a cliffhanger that made me literally itch to read the next book!

The characters were BEAUTIFULLY PERFECT! I would love all of them to be my best friends or my boyfriends depending on the person. First of all, Bernie is probably in my list of favorite main characters of all time. She is strong, sassy, badass, but she is so raw. I want to be her or I want to marry her, I honestly can’t decide. She is such a strong presence in the book and I enjoyed following her journey.

Usually in a reverse harem romance, I have a favorite boyfriend. Yes, I usually love all the boyfriends in a reverse harem, but I always have one that I wish was in it a little more than the others. However, in this series, all the boys were equal in my eyes and they all had such an important role in the plot and in Bernie’s life. Each book in the series went over a specific boy’s history and it was nice to see their development happen gradually as the book went on. I LOVED THEM ALL SO MUCH! Hael is so yummy, Aaron is so delicious, Victor is so good, Oscar was a pleasant surprise, Callum was perfect. I’m going to miss them so much.

The only thing that was a little hard to digest was the fact that the characters were in high school, but I honestly didn’t care. I just loved them all so much that I ignored how utterly ridiculous some of the situations were. I mean it’s a romance novel so you can’t take the details too seriously. The details of the plot and the well developed characters make you forget about how high schoolers are basically controlling their entire town and have access to as much money and as many cars as they need. Who cares about real life at that point!

Also, the author added details to the fourth and fifth book hinting at COVID that really didn’t fit into the book and seemed just a tad out of place. However, the author would also add little bits of dialogue where characters would be discussing their feelings about current issues such as politics, global warming, and human rights that I enjoyed. Especially the one about Bernie’s feelings about straws. That made me spit out my drink in laughter.

The ending of this series was perfect in every way. It ended in such a way where everything was wrapped up in a lovely Christmas bow, but gave me everything I needed. The ending was perfect, but I would rather the book keep going until I die because I’m going to miss these characters so much!

Overall, this series is my favorite C.M. Stunich series so far. If you love badass females, continuous plot twists, amazing and frustrating cliffhangers, and the yummiest bad boys, then this series is definitely for you. GET IT NOW!
