My Thoughts
I was lucky enough to get this book as an ARC for an honest review! I love paranormal romances so much and they are near and dear to my heart. I read the synopsis of this book and knew that I had to read this book.
I really enjoyed this read and it was a great addition to my list of books that I wanted to read this month. There were so many interesting elements of this book and I really loved the book world! It was just so interesting and had so many different creatures that I had never encountered before. Her idea of the fae was much more unique than I ever read. I want to be a Lady of the forest so bad. It was such a cool idea. I also thought the court dynamics were very intriguing. The different courts fascinated me and I just wanted to know more.
Although I loved the book world, I thought that it was just a tad confusing. I got bits and pieces of the important details of the book world, but I wanted more explanation and I was a little disappointed. I also was a little disappointed with the characters. I really could not stand the main character, Evelyn, sometimes. I mean I would like her, but then she would do something I didn’t like and I would be back at square one. Her innocence and naivety could be annoying and she would pretend she knew better and ruin everything. I could not handle it.
I did like a lot of the other characters though especially Mason, Jude, and Ares. I was obsessed with these characters so much and I couldn’t get enough. They were side characters, but they were just so interesting that I wanted to know everything. Mason was an interesting love interest and I thought Evelyn did him so WRONG!
The sex scenes were steamy, but they were not ENOUGH. It was just too PG for me so I was a little disappointed by that. Aiden is definitely yummy even though his emotions were a little too hot and cold for this reader.
Overall, I know this book is the start of a series and due to the fact I have so many unanswered questions about the book world I will definitely continue. I just have to have more!
