OMG! THIS BOOK WAS KILLER LITERALLY AND FIGURATIVELY. I enjoyed this book so much better than the first for one reason and one reason only, Marcella Riggins….

Marcella Riggins was an instant love character for me from the moment she started talking. Yes, she is bloodthirsty, evil, manipulative, conniving, and vengeful, but this girl has been through hell and back and she didn’t even get $200 when she passed go. Her husband was a PIECE of GARBAGE and he deserved everything he got and more and I don’t hold anything against her. What can I say? I’m a little biased to the jilted woman…

Since everything in her life was more of an obstacle than a blessing, this girl had to fight for EVERYTHING! I was just so enraged when I read her flashbacks with her husband. I don’t know how she put up with him and those around her for so long. When she took her revenge, she not only claimed what was owed to her, she became who she always wanted to be and it was beautiful. For a minute at least….

In the first book, I really enjoyed Victor and was rooting for him at every turn, but I had to remember that he was, at the end of the day, an anti-hero. This sequel made this fact very apparent to me and his selfishness came through, especially through his interactions with Sydney and Mitch. He could really be a terrible person and his similarities between him and Eli were extremely obvious.

The author also tried to humanize Eli by informing the reader of his background and upbringing. So sorry, but it didn’t work for me. He was still my least favorite no matter how horrible his childhood was. He saw himself in a way that only psychopaths too and at the end of the day his reasons did not justify his means, he was a villain through and through.

Jude was definitely my second favorite character and I found her extremely intriguing. The fact that she is not her real self ever was so fascinating to me because I wanted to know who the real person was, I have a feeling and I hope I’m right….

The plot was extremely fast paced and full of crazy suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I loved LOVED the flow of the book and the many different perspectives and storylines. Usually I get a little confused about the multiple perspectives, but the author did a great job of explaining everything and my head didn’t hurt too much by the amount of storylines.

Overall, I loved this sequel much more than the first, but I want more!!!
