My Top 5 Reads of August

I can’t believe it’s already the end of August! Time has just been flying.  This month was an amazing month for me because I finally started my book blog. It has been such an amazing journey and I am so thankful for my husband’s thoughtful birthday gift!  However, it wasn’t a super productive reading month, but I still managed to finish 22 books! I also managed to be in a couple readalongs and have met some amazing bookstagrammers that have become amazing supporters!  Here are my top five reads from August!  Fragile Eternity  This book is the third installment of the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr. I love the…

How I decide when a book is a DNF

As a book lover it really pains me to discuss this topic without feeling extremely guilty. I mean I always feel that all books have potential and I am always trying desperately to finish a book when I start it. However, as I grow older and realize my reading time has been cut short through social interactions and adult boring things, I only want to read books that I enjoy. So I’ve made a few rules for myself that dictates when I stop reading. There are too many books in the world I want to read so why waste my time on a book I don’t like. Here are my…

    Ink Exchange Review

Summary In the second installment of the Wicked Lovely series, the world of the Fae are at a crossroads. With the Summer Court in balance because of their new queen, the Dark Court is suffering. Their king, Irial has found a way to feed his court again, but it comes at a cost and a broken mortal will have to pay the price.   My Thoughts:  This second book of the series was honestly just so sad and broke my heart. While the first book’s main character was Aislinn, this second book focuses on one of her close friends, Leslie. Leslie doesn’t know anything about fairies, but has noticed her friend…

    How to Organize Your Books

Through my bookstagram, I have noticed so many different ways that people arrange their books. Book lovers also have a variety of furniture they use to organize them. I just wanted to write a post where I put all the ways and things they use to organize books so that readers can decide what would work best for them. Also, I hope by writing this post, I will finally have the motivation to organize my books. (Maybe?) Bookshelves are the traditional way on how most book owners arrange and organize their book collections. However, there are so many different ways to arrange your books that it can be insane and…

    Audiobooks: Pros and Cons

I had never really been into audiobooks when I was younger because I loved the feel and look of an actual book. However, in recent years, with becoming an adult, I have truly learned to appreciate the audiobook as a friend and helper. Amazon has the audible membership available where the customer pays $14.95 a month for one credit that is good for any audiobook no matter the cost. I jumped at the membership because as you may have noticed, audiobooks are super expensive. I joined in 2014 and have been hooked ever since! However, there are pros and cons to consider before joining in on the audiobook fun.  Let’s…

    Sorcery of Thorns Review

Summary Elisabeth is an orphan that was found on the doorstep of one of her world’s Great Libraries. These libraries contain magical grimoires written by the world’s greatest sorcerer families. However, these books have minds of their own and can transform into dangerous beasts and Elisabeth’s only goal in life to become a warden that stops these monsters. My Thoughts The idea of this book was extremely fascinating to me. I loved a lot of elements in this book; however, when they all were combined, I wasn’t a true fan. The beginning of the book was extremely compelling. The world of sorcerers and librarians with swords was enticing to me…

    Wicked Lovely Review

Summary Aislinn lives everyday in fear. She can’t have the normal life she desires because of one small problem. She has the Sight, the ability to see the Fae among humans, but she can’t tell anyone. Everywhere she looks, she sees the Fae, and she has to live by a set a rules set by her grandmother to keep her safe. However, one day, a court fae approaches her in a comic book store and the rules she has been taught from birth aren’t working anymore.  My Thoughts This book was made such an impression on me that I actually hugged the book when I was finished. The world of…
