My 5 Top Reads of November

Despite the holiday and my crazy life, I actually read 12 more books in November than October! I am so happy to be getting my reading groove back! I read 23 books in all this month and while they all were really great, four books and one series stood out to me as my favorites!  Gemina by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman  This book was not what I was expecting, but I ended up really enjoying the space ride that it took me on. I usually am not a fan of when a series changes main characters between the first installment and the sequel, but this book was a great…

    A Book Lover’s Wishlist

As a book lover, I know it is difficult for some people to buy for me. I mean the go to thing for people to buy me is books, but many people say that they always hesitate to do so. They wonder if: I would like that book? Have I read it already? Do I have it all ready? So they usually don’t bother. I agree with them. I buy myself the books I want and don’t really need for them to buy a book for me. However, here are some of the things I would love instead and I feel many other book lovers like me would like: Bookish…

    Birth of a Raven Review

Summary Before Vegas and her men were a part of the supernatural group, the Red Masques, she was in a small Midwestern town raising hell. In this prequel, we get to see Vegas and her men while they are still in high school and getting their start.  My Thoughts:  If you read any of my previous blog posts or seen any of my story highlights on the amazing and talented author, M. Sinclair, you know that I am OBSESSED with Vegas and her men. Ms. Sinclair unfortunately ended the series and my heart broke and I’ve honestly never recovered. I miss Vegas’s jokes and the love that shares between 10…

    Truthwitch Review

Summary In the world of the Witchlands, Safiya and Iseult are trying to escape their pasts and live a life as sisters. However, they have one problem, one of them is a truthwitch and that rarity could get them in a lot of trouble and with war brewing, they just might be in for it.  My Thoughts:  I read this book a long time ago and I remember really liking it, but I remember no details whatsoever. I decided to pick it up again because a lot of people have recommended it to me so I thought why not.  As most series go, the first book was more information about…

One Point of View or Multiple Points of View?

Books are an amazing look into a wonderful new world told in the different perspective of another person. Whether or not the book is fictional, a perspective from one person makes a story completely different than if another person told it. The perspective of a character will make or break a book; therefore, I seem to enjoy multiple points of view in a book rather than one point of view. They Add More Background to a Character  If a book has multiple perspectives, it offers just a unique experience to the plot. A book isn’t like a movie so you can only rely on the main character’s internal dialogue and…

    Kingdom of Copper Review

Summary In the second installment of the Daevabad trilogy, Nahri’s life has changed drastically from the life she lived in Cairo. She is forced to live in the dangerous palace of her ancestors where everyone could be an enemy and she doesn’t know who to trust.  My Thoughts:  Let me start this review by saying that I started listening to this book on audiobook. The audiobook was wonderful! It taught me all the pronunciations, the narrator had a soothing yet engaging voice, and I really liked how deep I was immersed into the story. However, the book was just so good that I thought the audiobook was too slow for…

    Kingdom of the Wicked Review

Summary In Sicily, there lived two sisters. One day, one of them is murdered so the other asks Hell for help in finding out who killed her. My Thoughts:  So my heart is broken and I don’t know what I am going to do until the next book. I mean this book came out like two weeks ago and I have no idea when the next book is going to come out so I’m dying inside.  It was just so good. I stopped reading for moments in between to just absorb how amazing this book was. I am still in shock honestly. I just love every single thing about it…
