My Thoughts

I am so grateful to have received this book in exchange for an honest review. I am so thankful for The Hatter Author Services and the author for the opportunity because this book was insane!

So did I mention that this book was crazy because it was not just crazy… It was the Joker of the Batman (comic books) insane. I swear I can hear him laughing along with the plot….. I honestly had no idea what was going on or what was going to happen and although sometimes I wanted to pull my hair out, it was very interesting to say the least. The story was quite original in a way that the beginning was going in a very kinky out of my comfort zone kind of way, but in the middle it all got kerfuffled and turned into something very different.

The story was told through multiple perspectives. I enjoyed that immensely because it provided so much insight to the characters and what was going overall in the plot. The characters could be quite unreliable and would tell the same story in a different way so it was nice to get the overall picture so my brain could stay unexploded. Thanks for that Ms. Mute. haha. Although I enjoyed the story, the plot had some snags for me that made me go back and forth between liking it and loving it. The timeline of the book was very odd. There were a lot of time jumps in the beginning of the plot that I just didn’t understand and they would jump to times that weren’t very necessary or included details that felt very drawn out. I am NOT a detail reader, I need dialogue, steamy scenes, drama, just something and those weird time jumps in the beginning didn’t give me any of that.

These characters were also verrrrrry interesting. They could be so likeable and then they did something that would make you go…. “Omg what were you thinking girl? Why would you go and do a stupid thing like that?” I mean…. I loved Lydia, but boy did she make me want to rip my hair out. She could be so sassy and fun that I loved it, but I also loved seeing her vulnerable and her ability to push through that and claim what she needed. I also was obsessed with Carter. OMG be still my heart with this male specimen. He was what I needed when times in this book were tough or Lydia made a poor choice and I wanted to kick her.

The book had so many crazy plot twists and steam that would make a streetwalker blush, but I enjoyed every minute of it. The ending came out of nowhere and way too soon, but that epilogue wet my whistle and I can’t wait for more!
