Reconcile

Summary
Sawyer has done some awful things in the past, but nothing like what he did to Piper in high school. She is the one person he regrets and when she comes back into his life, he will not only be making it up to her, but to another surprise from their past.
My Thoughts
I am so grateful to have received this read as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much to the author and The Hatter Author Services for the opportunity to get my hands on this steamy read!
This book was such a quick and easy read with so many of my favorite tropes rolled into one! It was all just so so SO GOOD! I really liked everything about this read except I felt like it just all happened so fast and I need to know more about everything. I really liked the way the story turned out and I enjoyed the characters so much, but it wasn’t enough for me to be a complete story. I just needed more steam and more build up to give this book a five star rating. The story line incorporated a lot of my favorite tropes, but maybe that was the problem because there was so much to take in that it took away time to add details to one trope.
It was a second chance romance in a way that the couple had a past relationship, but one tragic mistake caused the couple to break apart in such a tragic way. I love second chance romances, but there is usually a little more insight in their past relationship. I felt like the author kind of rushed this detail and I just wish there had been more. I wanted to see baby bad boy Sawyer and cute baby Piper so bad! I would’ve also LOVED to see how their friendship had blossomed into a romance. It would’ve been SO GOOD! There was also the enemies to lovers trope mixed into this trope and I liked it, but there was not enough humorous banter to make it a true enemies to lovers romance for my taste.
However, that all aside, this was a great story and I just loved the characters. Piper was such a wonderfully amazing badass with a heart of pure gold and armor of rock hard steel. I just loved her character and I was completely rooting for her happiness and success throughout the book. But…. I think she caved just a little too fast with Sawyer. I almost wish she had put up more of a fight because it would of made the story much more detailed and slightly more entertaining for me. I also enjoyed Sawyer a LOT; however, I felt like in the beginning, there needed to be more of an introduction for him because he claims that he is a bad boy, but we don’t get to see it very much…. I wanted more guys.. Although I wanted more of Sawyer and his bad boyness, seeing him with Audrey just melted my heart and warmed me in ALL the right places….
Overall, this short, steamy, and sweet read is a great one, but I wish it was just a little bit better.
