Some of the Series I Want to Read in 2021

I have a long long loooooooong TBR list and it just gets longer and longer. This year I am hoping to read a lot of the books from my TBR and to finish some series that I’ve been putting off for years! Here are some of the series I would like to read and finish in 2021 An Ember in the Ashes Series by Sabaa Tahir  Summary:  Laia is a slave in a Roman Empire like setting. Her brother is taken and in order to get him back, she must spy for the rebels and enter into the prestigious military academy. There she will meet Elias and together they might…

My Top Ten Reads of 2020

Let’s face it, 2020 has been a TERRIBLE year, but books always make everything better. The only highlight of this year is that the quarantine allowed me to read more and gave me more time to start a book blog and a bookstagram. It has been an amazing journey, but like everyone else I’m hoping that 2021 goes a little bit better. This is a list of books that helped me get through this crazy year, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. Educated by Tara Westover  Wow if you have not read this book, then you need to use the gift cards you got for Christmas…

    Obsidio Review

Summary In the final installment of the Illuminae Files, Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik find themselves crammed into a container ship and only see returning to Kerenza as an option to stay alive. While on Kerenza, Asha Grant is struggling with the invasion of the BioTech assault and soon discovers that a blast from her past is on the other side. My Thoughts HOLY MOLY GUACAMOLE!!!! THIS BOOK WAS INSANE! I mean all the books of this series have been insane, but the third installment was a major thrill ride and I was on the edge of my blanket and book pillow the entire time! I finished the book in…

My 5 Top Reads of November

Despite the holiday and my crazy life, I actually read 12 more books in November than October! I am so happy to be getting my reading groove back! I read 23 books in all this month and while they all were really great, four books and one series stood out to me as my favorites!  Gemina by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman  This book was not what I was expecting, but I ended up really enjoying the space ride that it took me on. I usually am not a fan of when a series changes main characters between the first installment and the sequel, but this book was a great…

    Gemina Review

Summary:  In another space station, on the other side of the galaxy, Hanna has moved to the Jump Station Heimdall and she is not happy about it. However, she had no idea that she was going to face a bigger danger than damage to her social life…. My Thoughts:  I’m sorry, but what the f**k just happened?!!? Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman I feel like it was April Fool’s Day and you’ve punked me at least 50 times!  So I didn’t read the synopsis so I had no idea it wasn’t going to be about Kady and Erza. I was a little disappointed, I’m not going to lie. However, when…

My Top 5 Reads of October

I only read 11 books this month, but I’m okay with it. I mean I could have read more books, but it was my favorite month of the year so I had a lot of fun activities to do as well as read. I enjoyed all of the books I read in October, but these five were definitely books that I will always remember!  Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman  Oh this book was wonderful! I really enjoyed it so much more than I thought I was going to. The book was written through a collection of emails, instant messages, and classified documents so it was a little bit…

    Illuminae Review

Summary:  The year is 2575 and Kady and Erza thought their only problem was their relationship. Then their planet was attacked and a plague has broken out. Now what?  My Thoughts:  I love everything Jay Kristoff and this book did not disappoint!  The story is told through emails, files, instant messages, medical reports, interviews, and maps so it became a little confusing at times. However, once I got used to the writing style, I was hooked.  I was obsessed with Kady and Ezra from the very beginning. Their opening interviews after their planet was attacked were hilarious and full of mysteries I wanted to solve. I was so confused about…

There is still four more months of 2020 left and I still have so many books on my TBR, but here are the ten I loved so far!  After by Anna Todd Tessa is a good girl. Ten Reads on my TBR

I don’t know if any of my wonderful book friends have this problem, but my TBR list is a mile long and I don’t see it getting any shorter. These are just a very small fraction of the books on my list.   On Writing by Stephen King  This autobiography and guide to writing was introduced to me by my writing buddy a couple of years ago. I’ve been writing on and off for about 10 years with no end in sight. When I bought the book, I had hoped to read it and get inspired. However, since I haven’t read the book yet, I remain stumped in my writing. I…

    Some of My Favorite Heroines

Through my many years of reading, I have encountered so many amazing characters that I truly adore and want to read again and again. I feel like every time I start a new book, I add new characters to my ever-growing list and it’s getting harder to choose who is my favorite. Most of my favorite characters are sarcastic, intelligent, and badass and this list of characters meet these traits to a capital T.  Aelin Galathynius/Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas This is the coolest character that I’ve ever read. When I first meet her, she is a cold, broken, but determined girl that…
