Book Review

The Sweetest Oblivion

Elena has been nicknamed Sweet Abelli among the bosses of New York’s underworld. But when she meets Nicolas Russo, his reputation might force her to be not so nice.

My Thoughts

So I have seen this book all over BookTok and bookstagram. It sounded so steamy and perfect to get to my mafia kink, but it sat on my Kindle Unlimited book shelf for a LONG time. I was worried that it would be another disappointing book that these social media friends tried to sell me on. However, I finally bit the bullet and read the damn thing and OMGGGGGGGGGG this has been the mafia romance read I’ve been needing because so many have let me down lately…

This plotline was CRAZYYYYYY! The dynamics between the families and the main character and her love interest was insane. It gave me the dark and exciting violence that I needed to make the mafia men intriguing and the action that I needed to purely DEVOUR this book. This mafia world was CUTTHROAT and these wickedly unpredictable characters gave me everything I could possibly need.

Elena was a truly fun character and I just enjoyed getting to know her and her story. Her back story unraveled as the story progressed and it was soooo unique and interesting. Elena was such a complex character and much more deep than I expected. I also REALLY enjoyed seeing her find her voice and come into her own. It was pure fun entertainment.

NICO IS EVERYTHING TO ME AND I’M FREAKING OBSESSED WITH HIM!!!!!!! He is the perfect mafia man and why can’t more mafia men in romances be like him? He was cold, dark, mysterious, possessive, elusive, and sexually pschyo. Him and his antics were freaking delicious and I couldn’t wait to see what other crazy thing that he would do next!

The banter between Nico and Elena gave me LIFE and it was so much fun to read… their tension was some of my favorite tension and it made the story so much fun!

Overall, this book gave me all the dark and devilish I need…. Nico please call me sometime…..
